The Minnesota Public Golf Association sponsors Match Play Team Competitions for the member clubs of the MPGA.
All matches are played under four ball match play rules which are found under Rule 30 of the USGA Rules of Golf.
Team members play their better ball against the better ball of their opponents, match play competition using no handicaps.
One point is awarded for winning each nine hole stipulated round, and one point for winning the total 18 hole stipulated round maximum of three points for each match.
USGA rules govern all play, as well as applicable local rules.
Team participants must be an amateur member of the Minnesota Public Golf Association member club they are representing in Match Play Team Competition and have a active GHIN handicap index for the current season.
Players who belong to more than one club may only participate for one club during the current season of competition within each type of Match Play Team Competition.
