Entries submitted by Postal Mail must be postmarked not later than August 5th, 2017.
Please submit only one entry per envelope if you are registering via paper application/check. Accepted entries will be posted on the MPGA website.
Registration will be available on March 6th, 2017.
ENTRY FEE: $100.00 per player. Entry fee must accompany your entry. Entries are on a first come basis, until field is full. Entries will be limited to the first 90 received and must include entry fee.
ENTRY WITHDRAWAL AND REFUNDS: Entry fee will be refunded if the MPGA is notified before the close of entries. Fees will not be refunded after close of entry.
ELIGIBILITY: This tournament is open to amateur players who are members of a club that is a member of the Minnesota Public Golf Association and has a current active GHIN Handicap for 2017 at that club. You must have a GHIN handicap index of 5.5 or less at the time of entry to be eligible to enter this Championship.
FORMAT:The tournament will be a two-day, 36-hole stroke play event for all entered players (no cut). If a tie occurs for first place for 36 holes, a sudden death playoff will take place. Threesome pairings will be used for this Championship.
The winner of the State Public Links is exempt from qualifying for the 2018 Minnesota State Open.
A traveling trophy (The Clasen Cup) will be awarded to the member club with the lowest team score for 36 holes. Team scores will be determined by recording, for each member club, the best three scores by its players for 18 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday.
MGA PLAYER POINTS: 1st place - 125, 2nd place -100, 3rd place - 75, 4th place - 60, 5th place - 50, 6th place - 40, 7th place - 30, 8th place - 20, 9th place -10, and 10th place - 5 points.
RULES: USGA rules govern all play except as amended by the committee. Rangefinders may be used for distance measurements only. The MPGA Code of Conduct policy and dress code is in effect (reference www.mpga.netSTARTING TIME: Pairing/starting times will be e-mailed to each entrant prior to the tournament with Saturday's starting time. Please report to the registration table at least 20 minutes prior to your starting time on Saturday and to your starting tee at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time both days, ready to play.
